Chargie of the day - What is it and why do we have it?

Every day we put one of our community members in the spotlight on our Facebook page and Instagram account. Some of the stories also make it to the website. These stories serve different purposes.

The Chargie Of The Day gets support

When you send in your story and picture and you get featured, a lot of people will read your story. They will respond to the things you wrote and offer you helpful insights from their own experiences or/and offer positive support.

You inspire others

First of all it takes courage to share your story publicly. Second of all there may be people that recognise their symptoms in your story. They may go and talk to their doctor about these because they have read your story. You may help save a life. The number one cause of death amongst people with invisible illness is suicide, simply knowing they are not the only one and seeing hope in other people's story may give them the shimmer of hope they needed to go on. And believe me, there have been many stories like these saving lives.

You are not the only one

Sharing your story will help you connect with others who are experiencing the same. This let's you know that you are not the only one. It also shows others who read it, that there are more people out there going through the same thing. Maybe they read about your rare disorder of which they have never heard before and they recognise their own issues.

Gives a sense of community

The Chargie of the day stories give us a sense of community. We are all spread over the entire globe. These stories make us relate, have compassion for each other, want to talk to each other and make us feel connected through this chronic illness journey.

Would you like to be chargie of the day? Simply send your picture and your story to contact @ theunchargeables (dot) com and you will be featured.
